Siegmar Gerken has studied psychology, education and anthropology.

He has pioneered body-oriented and heart-centered therapy and Humanistic psychology since 1971 and is the founder of Core Evolution, and of the Energy & Consciousness programs. Siegmar has taught at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, JFK University, and at the Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California. He has conducted body-oriented therapy and mindfulness-based trainings at the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute in Hamburg, and specialized Management and Coaching Seminars. Besides his own trainings in Core Evolution, he lectures and teaches at universities and private institutes worldwide on the interconnectedness of psychosomatic processes as they manifest on the levels of body, emotions, mind, will and spirit. His research in energy field documentation of psycho-emotional states opened new horizons to scientists and practitioners.

The International Institute for Core Evolution & Core Soma is an accredited Institute.

Core Evolution is recognized as scientific modality by the European Association for Body-Psychotherapy (EABP) and by the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

A complete training in Core Evolution leads to certification in Integrative, Body-Oriented, Trauma-Sensitive and Mindfulness-Centered Psychotherapy, with which you can become a full member in the EABP and apply for the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP).
